Lovely Professional University celebrated Women's Day

The Department of Hospitality of Lovely Professional University made a call to all the working women of the University to recognize and honour the feminine fraternity by celebrating 100th International women's Day with great pomp and show. A large number of them assembled and celebrated the occasion together with much mirth and fanfare. The members of the staff as well as students participated in different attractive and melodious presentations to highlight the importance of women. Starting with the chronological saga of economic power attained and achievements made by women through beautiful presentation, the event led the present ones on emotional heights through the melodious outcomes by the talented students of the department. After a number of speeches in eulogy to the entity of the women, a light reception followed in the honour of all illustrious women.

On this occasion, addressing the significant presence and providing mesmerizing introductory remarks, the Director General of the University, Er HR Singla said: "International Women's Day gives us a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of women in and all around the world.

We recognize and have a special respect for them, in particular, for the substantial contributions they make in the day to day existence and propagation of this world. The valuable impact they lay on others is beyond any calculation and illustration. The indebted society should always work for their betterment upholding their esteem and status, standing firmly against all the oppressions hurled upon them unnecessarily and deliberately. The social ills like female feticide, dowry, physical assault still do exist to obstruct the freedom of them. We all should vow to root these out fully. We are proud of the women workforce at LPU. "
