NSS Volunteers of Lovely Professional University organized Two Days Free Medical camp

* 60 Students, with Special abilities, of the school got benefitted

* Pryas School is being run by Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section,

* 23 NSS Volunteers of LPU revealed perfect Missionary Zeal


The Pro- Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Ms Rashmi Mittal, informed that in order to perform well towards humane considerations and social responsibility " Two days Free Medical, Para-Medical and Physiotherapy Camp & Cleanliness Drive was organized by the Social Services Wing of the University. For this, 23 NSS Volunteers, with the co-operation of a team of doctors and para-medical Staff from Shri Baldev Raj Mittal Hospital of the University, helped the needy and special children of 'Prayas' School, Maqsudan." It is worth noticing that the school is being run by Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, Jalandhar.

Expressing her happiness on the students' missionary zeal and further providing elaborated information, she said: "60 such children were screened for various ailments like Anemia (10), Ear Infections (04), Eye Infection (06), Skin Infection (01), Loss of Appetite (01), Common Cold (01) and General Weakness (37). Their heights and weights were measured and Blood Pressure checked. Paramedical Staff conducted various Blood tests and blood grouping. Physio-therapists checked and treated suggesting them strength boosting exercises. They were also guided to get relieved of deformities and muscular weakness."

On this occasion Medicines were also distributed free of cost. Fruit Juice and snacks were provided to the children and staff working there. In one of the other efforts, the NSS Volunteers of LPU extensively sensitized the members of the staff of the school on health, hygiene and safe drinking water so that ignorant students may not suffer unnecessarily. In this regard, during a cleanliness drive, the Volunteers cleaned out the school, hostel, mess and surroundings of the school and picked up all the waste and cleaned all dirty caves. They also painted the pots as a part of beautification drive.
