The students' Rock-Band 'Provissk' of Lovely Professional University exhibited 
their supremacy over all other competitors at the annual festival 'Utkansh-11' held at National Institute of Technology(NIT), Jalandhar. The six-member team won the coveted trophy and a cash prize of Rs10 K by standing first and showing the special and mesmerizing power of strings and sound. The festival had convergence of cultures and confluence of best talents from across the northern region of the country. As many as Eight teams had participated in the rock-bands' competition at NIT.
It is worth illustration that the 'Provissk' team, comprising of Parth ( Lead Vocalist), Savy
(Drummer), Akshay (Rhythm Guitarist), Dev (Bass Guitarist), Gaurav (Key Board) and Kannav ( Lead Guitarist), showcased the celebration of the spirit of healthy competition. They said in unison: "We are a band with staunch followings to Black Metal/Heavy Metal like 'Lamb of God', 'Morse', 'COB' and 'Dimmu Borgir'. We have also composed a song "Bounded to the Sacred" for 'My Space Account' which is earning wide acclaims." They further promised to achieve more and more in the academic as well as allied fields under the guidance and motivation from their mentors at the University.
On this achievement, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Ms Rashmi Mittal said: "We believe that the essence of true education resides in the achievements of extra-mural and
co-curricular activities of the students. Over the years, our university has been regularly providing platform to its students to reveal the best through their inborn talents. And, we are happy that they have been continuously expressing, themselves, very well in the forms of music, histrionics, dancing, singing and many more, in addition to their academic pursuits, thus bringing laurels to their University and all concerned. Their present achievements are the best example of their proper learning to have perfect balance between their professional and personal growth."
