Being in the line with continuously changing trends towards Eggless Bakery, in and around India and world, the Department of Hotel Management of School of Hospitality of lovely Professional University arranged Ten-Days Pilot workshop on Eggless Bakery for the benefit of its students. More than 300 students attended the workshop. The Director General of the University Er HR Singla inaugurated the workshop. The Deputy Director Aman Mittal, Senior Dean Dr Sanjay Modi accompanied him.
Under this conduction the students of the department learned how to make delicious bakery products without egg. The students baked products and sold them to the customers to see their favouring responses. Many items, favourite among Indians as well, like Pastries, Patties, Kulchas, Fruit Triffles, Breads, Cup-cakes and so on were taught by the chef, Karan Berry, who has earlier worked with Hotel Leela Palace at Bangalore. The overwhelming response was received from and by the students. Many of the students from other departments and customers also wanted to learn all about it. In addition, the whole experience taught students how to become an entrepreneur. As a pedagogical tool, it also enhanced the competencies of students who want to join Bakery & "Patiserrie" sections of the Hotels.
On this occasion, Er Singla said: "We are happy that the idea mooted by HOD with Bakery Chef of the department has decently furthered the cause of vegetarianism. It is indeed to create students' awareness about vegetarianism and animal protection through such holdings at which eminent subject matter specialists and nutrition experts were involved to extend their views. In fact, indirectly, it has apprised the learners with the harms of consuming flesh- food and encouraged the activities in the field of vegetarianism with a number of delicious preparations without eggs." It is worth illustration that Vegetarianism is gaining grounds in India with famous Bolly-Wood personalities like Actress Bipasha Basu, Actor John Abrahm becoming ambassadors for the promotion of vegetarianism.
